As per the latest figures, BJP candidate Umakant Singh is ahead with 30,290 votes. Close behind him is Congress nominee Abhishek Ranjan, who has received 28,719 votes, keeping the race highly competitive.

YouTuber-turned-politician Tripurari Kumar Tiwari, widely known as Manish Kashyap, is presently in third place with 12,081 votes. He is contesting the Chanpatia seat in Bihar as a Jan Suraaj candidate.

The Chanpatia Assembly falls under the Paschim Champaran Lok Sabha constituency. In the 2020 Assembly elections, Umakant Singh of the BJP won the seat, defeating Congress candidate Abhishek Ranjan by a margin of 13,469 votes.

Manish Kashyap rose to prominence through his social-media commentary on regional matters and later stepped into electoral politics, hoping his digital influence would translate into votes. However, early trends indicate that despite his online reach, Chanpatia voters appear to be favouring more established political figures.

In 2023, he was arrested by the Tamil Nadu Police for allegedly circulating misinformation about attacks on migrants from Bihar. After being released, he joined the BJP in 2024 ahead of the general elections but later quit the party to align with Jan Suraaj.
