Who Is Bansuri Swaraj? Sushma Swaraj's Daughter And BJP Candidate From New Delhi Constituency
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday announced the first list of candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections 2024. The announcement was made by the BJP National General Secretary Vinod Tawde in the presence party vice president and other top leaders.
In its first list, BJP has given a ticket to daughter of former Delhi Chief Minister and former External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj's daughter Bansuri Swaraj. Bansuri will be making her poll debut from the New Delhi Lok Sabha constituency.

BJP has announced Praveen Khandelwal's name to contest from Chandni Chowk seat, Manoj Tiwari to contest from Noth East Delhi, Kamaljeet Sehrawat from West Delhi, Ramvir Singh Bidhuri from South Delhi, And Bansuri Swaraj from New Delhi Lok Sabha constituency.
Earlier, the saffron party had appointed her as co-convenor of Delhi BJP's legal wing.
With this announcement, a picture of the battle of the New Delhi constituency has been clear. Bansuri Swaraj will face Aam Aadmi Party and Congress' joint candidate Somnath Bharti, a sitting MLA.
About Bansuri Swaraj:
Bansuri Swaraj comes with a bag full of experience in the legal profession. According to the reports, she has been enrolled with the Bar Council since 2007, which counts experience of more than 15 years.
She attained an English Literature undergraduate degree from the University of Warwick and then moved to London to study Law at the prestigious BPP Law School. She also has a Masters of Studies degree in her bag attained from the University of Oxford's St. Catherine's College.
Bansuri Swaraj made her political debut after the demise of her mother. She made the headlines last year after she launched a scathing attack at Aam Aadmi Party supremo and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal over the National Capital Territory of Delhi (Amendment) Bill, 2023.
Addressing the media, Bansuri Swaraj had called Delhi's AAP government a useless (Nikammi) and quarrelsome group (Jhagdalu). She also thanked President Droupadi Murmu for passing NCT Delhi (Amendment) Bill 2023, which gives more powers to the Centre and Governor, stating the administration in Delhi would now run as per the law.
