'Wherever Modi Campaigned, We Won': Sharad Pawar 'Thanks' PM For Poll Outcome In Maharashtra

Sharad Pawar, Uddhav Thackeray, and Prithviraj Chavan, leaders of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), held a joint press conference in Mumbai today to express their gratitude to the citizens for supporting their alliance in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

NCP chief Sharad Pawar, took a rather humourous jibe at PM Modi and said that MVA secured victories in those seats wherever Modi campaigned.

"Wherever the Prime Minister's roadshow and rally took place, we won. That is why I consider it my duty to thank the prime minister... We thank PM Narendra Modi for making the political atmosphere conducive for the MVA," said Sharad Pawar at the press conference.

Maharashtra was a crucial state in the general elections, significantly impacting BJP and NDA.

The BJP won only nine seats in Maharashtra, a stark decline from the 23 seats it secured in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Data from the Election Commission indicate that NDA lost in the majority of constituencies where Modi campaigned, failing to win in 15 out of 18 seats.

Sharad Pawar also made it clear that there is no possibility of his nephew, Ajit Pawar, getting back in NCP.

Meanwhile, Uddhav Thackeray didn't forget to thank several YouTube channels and citizens group for their contributions towards raising awareness during poll campaign.

"What was the narrative used by PM Modi? What about the Mangalsutra narrative? Was it right?," Thackeray responded to a question over allegation of fake narrative being used by MVA against BJP.

"Those who left me will not be taken back in the party." Thackeray added.

confirmed that MVA will jointly contest the upcoming Maharashtra assembly elections. Thackeray also expressed his appreciation for citizen groups and various YouTube channels that supported the MVA during the elections.
