When Will UP Govt Employees Get Diwali Bonus 2025? Yogi Govt To Announce Good News In 2nd Week

The Yogi Adityanath administration plans to offer a Diwali bonus of up to ₹7,000 to state employees, enhancing festive joy. Concurrently, initiatives for women's safety and empowerment are being promoted, including various financial support schemes.

Just in time for the festive season, the Yogi Adityanath government is preparing to give a Diwali bonus to its employees, mirroring a similar move by the central government.

This initiative aims to bring festive joy to around 8 lakh state government workers. The bonus, expected to be up to ₹7,000 per employee, will be issued by the second week of October, ensuring payment before Diwali, as per the reports in the Hindi media.

Financial Initiatives for Employees

The bonus will benefit non-gazetted state employees and daily wage and work-charge staff. The Finance Department is currently evaluating the proposal. Once approved, an official order will be drafted. A budget of approximately ₹1,000 crore has been allocated for this payout. Additionally, there are speculations about a potential increase in dearness allowance (DA) and dearness relief (DR) for employees and pensioners.

Women's Safety and Empowerment

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath recently highlighted Uttar Pradesh's efforts in promoting women's safety and empowerment. Despite being India's most populous state, Uttar Pradesh boasts one of the lowest crime rates against women. The state also leads in punishments and convictions related to such crimes.

Adityanath addressed the media after performing Kanya Pujan at Gorakhnath Temple during Navratri. He emphasised the cultural significance of the festival, noting that Sanatan Dharma followers worship Goddess Durga's nine forms with devotion. Navratri celebrates feminine divine energy, symbolising women's power in the universe.

Empowerment Schemes

The Chief Minister discussed several initiatives aimed at empowering women and girls. These include Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Matru Vandana, Kanya Sumangala, and mass marriage schemes. He also welcomed the Nari Shakti Vandan Act, which enhances women's representation in top democratic institutions.

Mission Shakti's fifth phase began on September 22, coinciding with Sharadiya Navratri's start. This initiative focuses on women's safety and self-reliance across Uttar Pradesh, including at the Panchayat level. Adityanath noted its success, with significant progress in every district.

Financial Support for Women

The Chief Minister shared specific achievements under various schemes. One crore women receive an annual pension of Rs 12,000 in Uttar Pradesh. Additionally, 26 lakh women benefit from the Kanya Sumangala Yojana, which offers Rs 25,000 from birth to graduation.

The mass marriage scheme now provides Rs 1,00,000 per couple to ease financial burdens on poor families for their daughters' weddings. Adityanath extended greetings on Vijayadashami, a festival symbolising righteousness over unrighteousness and justice over injustice.

Adityanath remarked that Indian society has always respected women throughout history. Today, Indian women's achievements continue to impress globally. He stated that where daughters are safe and respected, society gains dignity and respect as well.

Inspired by Goddess Durga worship traditions, Uttar Pradesh's government is committed to safeguarding women's rights and dignity while promoting their empowerment. Adityanath stressed that without women's power, the world would be unimaginable.
