‘When Hindus In Bangladesh Are Attacked…’: BJP Slams Mehbooba Mufti For Lebanon Solidarity
BJP leaders have criticised PDP Chief Mehbooba Mufti for halting her election campaign to express solidarity with Lebanon. This decision was made after Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah's death.
Mufti announced on X (formerly Twitter) that she stands with Lebanon and Palestine during this time of grief and resistance. Kavinder Gupta, a former deputy to Mehbooba during the PDP-BJP coalition in Jammu and Kashmir, accused her of hypocrisy.

He claimed she remained silent when Hindus were targeted in Bangladesh. Gupta described her actions as "crocodile tears" and "fake sympathy," asserting that people see through her motives.
Altaf Thakur, another BJP leader from Kashmir, expressed his views on the situation. He stated that wars should be avoided as peace is essential for everyone. Thakur noted that countries often resolve conflicts through dialogue after major wars. He accused Mehbooba of using religion for political gain, labelling her actions as an election stunt.
The Israeli Defence Force (IDF) launched strikes in Beirut's Dahiyeh suburb on Friday, resulting in the death of Hezbollah's secretary-general Hassan Nasrallah and his daughter Zainab. The attack also claimed six other lives, including Hezbollah members Ali Karaki, Muhammad Ali Ismail, and Hossein Ahmed Ismail.
In response to Nasrallah's killing, protests erupted in Jammu and Kashmir's Budgam and Srinagar on Saturday. Large crowds took to the streets carrying images of Nasrallah to voice their dissent against the Israeli actions.
Thakur reiterated his condemnation of war-related killings but emphasised that Mehbooba's move was aimed at garnering support from the Muslim community. He stressed the importance of peace over conflict.
