WhatsApp Down for Many! Messages Stuck, Users Frustrated
Messaging app WhatsApp faced a major outage on Friday evening, leaving thousands of users unable to send or receive messages. Complaints poured in as users reported delivery failures, but there was no immediate response from WhatsApp regarding the disruption.

WhatsApp Outage Reported by Thousands
According to outage tracking website DownDetector, over 4,400 reports of a WhatsApp outage surfaced around 9 PM (IST) on Friday. Users across multiple regions, including India, reported issues with the app.
As expected, frustrated users flocked to social media to check if others were facing similar problems. The hashtag #WhatsAppDown quickly started trending on X (formerly Twitter), with users sharing memes and jokes about the outage.
One user posted: "Stop toggling your Airplane mode. Stop refreshing WhatsApp. It's not your network, WhatsApp is down!"
Another joked: "BREAKING: WhatsApp is down. X is up."
Interestingly, the WhatsApp outage comes just a day after workplace communication platform Slack suffered a similar disruption. Thousands of Slack users reported problems accessing the service, sending messages, and loading threads.
The San Francisco-based company later confirmed that API issues were affecting message delivery and connectivity. By mid-morning on Wednesday, some Slack services started coming back online.
WhatsApp, owned by Meta, has yet to issue a statement regarding the cause of the outage or an estimated time for resolution. Users worldwide are eagerly awaiting updates, while social media remains abuzz with discussions on the sudden breakdown of the popular messaging platform.
