What will S M Krishna do in 'few days of life left', asks Kharge

S M Krishna, a former Karnataka chief minister, is set to join the saffron party on Wednesday.

With SM Krishna set to join the Bharatiya Janata Party, Congress on Wednesday asked how the former external affairs minister's ideology, which he followed for over 50 years, changed in a few days.

Leader of Oopposition in Lok Sabha Mallikarjun Karge, told ANI that the Congress gave Krishna everything and honoured with all kinds of posts.

"Few days of life are left and he is committing a very big mistake by changing his principles at this age," Kharge told ANI.

A week after his plan of joining the BJP was postponed, Krishna, a former Karnataka chief minister, is set to join the saffron party on Wednesday. He is expected to join the party in the presence of the party's national president Amit Shah.

Krishna had earlier lashed out at the Congress earlier, saying that there was 'hereditary leadership' in the grand old party.

The strong Vokkaliga leader from Karnataka was to join the BJP on March 15 but had to cancel plans and return to Bengaluru owing to a personal loss. Krishna, who had left for Delhi on March 14, returned to Bengaluru on an early morning flight on March 15 owing to his sister's demise.

Krishna, who resigned from the primary membership of the Congress by submitting a single-line letter to party president Sonia Gandhi was invited by Karnataka BJP chief B S Yeddyurappa to add strength to the saffron party.
