What Rahul Gandhi Has Done Is Impressive: Saif Ali Khan Hails Congress Leader

Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan praised Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, calling him a brave politician for successfully transforming public perception about him.

During the 'From Mainstream to Maverick' session at the India Today Conclave 2024, Khan remarked, "What Rahul Gandhi has done is impressive. There was a time when people were dismissive of his actions, but he has worked hard to change that."

When asked who among Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Rahul Gandhi, and AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal could be seen as a brave leader capable of shaping India's future, Khan responded, "They are all brave politicians."

However, he avoided discussing his political views further, emphasizing his desire to remain apolitical. Reflecting on the political landscape, he stated, "I am happy that democracy is alive and thriving in India," referring to the recent 2024 Lok Sabha Elections, where the BJP-led NDA government secured a third term while the opposition INDIA bloc gained momentum.

Khan expressed admiration for honest and courageous politicians, underscoring that he values such traits in leaders.

In addition to politics, Khan touched on personal topics, including his family, career, and journey in the film industry. He acknowledged his lineage as the son of actress Sharmila Tagore but emphasized that his success in acting did not come easily.

"There was a point when I decided I needed to take acting seriously and become better at my craft," he shared. Despite his privileged background, Khan highlighted the values instilled by his father, former Indian cricket captain Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi. "My father always told me not to depend on financial inheritance. What he promised was a good education, and that's what he gave me."

Meanwhile, Saif Ali Khan's Telugu movie 'Devara' has been released on Friday and opened to fairly positive reviews.
