What is your shirt size, Qureshi had asked former CBI director Singh

The complaint states that Singh who was director of CBI between 2010 and 2012 had obtained money from business entities and individuals and allegedly showed favour.

The Central Bureau of Investigation on Monday registered an FIR naming its former director A P Singh. The FIR also names meat exporter Moin Qureshi and his friend Pradeep Koneru. The FIR was lodged on the basis of a probe conducted by the Enforcement Directorate.

The complaint states that Singh who was director of CBI between 2010 and 2012 had obtained money from business entities and individuals and allegedly showed favour.

The CBI while citing the ED probe says that Singh had exchanged messages with Qureshi. There were at least 25 messages exchanged which suggest that Singh and Qureshi were in touch with each other. In one of the messages, Qureshi writes, "Sir, 500 words essay is good or 1,000 words. Size of your jacket and shirt please fast thanks." To this Singh replies, "500.40 cm and 16 collar size."

There is also another message from Qureshi which states, "Dear sir, do I have to write Amar Pratap Singh IPS or without IPS for the stationery." To this Singh replies, IPS retd.

The investigations also found that there was a message in which Qureshi reached out to Singh for help in connection with a business project involving a top industrialist. Qureshi had wanted security clearance for that project from the Intelligence Bureau and also sought to reach out to former union minister, Kamal Nath for a Golf Club membership.

On Qureshi, the probe further alleges that he had collected money in large amounts as he was in connivance with public servants who were holding high offices. Through this he was able to illegally acquire immovable properties situated outside India. The properties also include apartments in London, Dubai, Singapore and New York.
