What is Jumla Strike and why is it the most searched term on Google today
New Delhi, July 20: The top searched word on Google in India, is Jumla Strike. The nation started Googling this word after Rahul Gandhi took a jibe at the Narendra Modi government in the Lok Sabha by saying, ' we are all victims of Jumla Strike.'

Obviously the nation was interested in knowing what it meant. The search for this word peaked after his speech and the most volume came from Karnataka. People especially in Bengaluru were in fact desperately trying to find the meaning for the word. The search volume was also high in the other southern strikes.
Jumla is a Hindi/Urdu word which means false promise. It is also a common idiom in Gujarati.
Rahul Gandhi said in his speech, " in your speech I felt a deep sense of anxiety and pain. You are a victim of a 21st century political weapon and the weapon is called Jumla Strike."
