What FASTag Users Need To Know About KYC Starting Today

As we enter the new financial year (April 2024), there's an important update regarding FASTag services in India.

Starting today ie. April 1st, users who haven't updated their FASTag KYC information with their issuing bank may face disruptions. This could lead to deactivated FASTags and double toll payments at toll plazas.

People were advised to update their FASTag KYC details with their respective banks before the impending deadline of March 31.

Failure to comply with this requirement may result in the deactivation or blacklisting of their FASTag accounts, irrespective of their account balance.

In accordance with RBI rules, NHAI launched the 'One Vehicle, One FASTag' campaign to enhance transparency and reduce waiting times at toll plazas for toll collection through FASTag. This move follows recent reports of multiple FASTags being issued for one vehicle and FASTags being issued without KYC, which violates RBI guidelines.

To update FASTag KYC on the FASTag portal:

• Visit the official FASTag website at fastag.ihmcl.com
• Log in using your mobile number and OTP (One Time Password)
• Click on the 'My Profile' tab on the homepage
• Click on the KYC tab
• Keep your vehicle registration certificate, driving license, address proof, identity proof, and a photograph handy
• Fill out all necessary information

To update FASTag KYC on the bank portal:

• Visit the official website of the bank that issued the FASTag
• Log in to the bank's website
• Navigate to the FASTag segment and proceed to the KYC section
• Keep your vehicle registration certificate, driving license, address proof, identity proof, and a photograph handy
• Fill out all necessary information

It is important to note that FASTag remains valid for five years and needs to be extended after this period.
