What does Jayalalithaa's Will state?


Chennai, Dec 8: For many the Will drawn up by J Jayalalithaa is of immense interest.

Questions such as who will inherit the Poes Garden residence spread over 24,000 square feet with a built up area of 21,662 Sq ft are being asked.


A source says that there was a Will drawn up by Jayalalithaa two years back in which she is said to have stated that this sprawling bungalow would go to her close aide and confidante Sasikala Natarajan.

Jayalalithaa's last affidavit that was filed before the recently held Tamil Nadu assembly elections states that she had assets worth Rs 113.73 crore.

The movable assets were valued at Rs 41.63 crore while the immovable assets were valued at Rs 72.09 crore.

The cash on hand was Rs 41,000 and the liabilities were at Rs 2.04 crore.

What does Amma's Will state?

While the source informed that there was a Will that was drawn up two years back, there is however no clear indication whether any changes have been made to it.

The Kodanad estate in Nilgiris and Sasi Enterprises would go to the surviving partner.

The Jaya Publications would also be inherited by the surviving partner.

The Poes Garden or Garden referred to as by journalists would go to Sasikala who is also known as Chinamma by the AIADMK cadres.

The property was purchased by Jayalalithaa along with her mother for Rs 1.32 lakh in 1967.

Jayalalithaa in her affidavit states that she had an Ambassador worth Rs 10,000.

Mahindra Jeep worth Rs 10,000 a Mahindra Bolero valued at Rs 80,000, Tempo Traveller worth Rs 80,000 and a Swaraj Mazda Maxi worth Rs 10,000.

The other vehicles are a Contessa worth Rs 5,000, Tempo Trax worth Rs 30,000, 2 Toyota Prados worth Rs 20 lakh each.
