What Do Indian Employees Expect At Workplace? Here Are The Findings
Recognition from senior leaders and openness at work are crucial for a positive workplace culture, according to a report by global job site Indeed. The report highlighted that 63% of employees value acknowledgment from leadership, which plays a significant role in boosting morale. This emphasis on recognition is echoed by 62% of employees who feel happier when their efforts are appreciated.
Indeed's report is based on interviews with 3,005 individuals across India, comprising 30% C-Suite Executives and 70% employees. It underscores the importance of validation and inclusion in building confidence and fostering a supportive work environment. Such an atmosphere empowers employees to thrive and contributes to a collaborative workplace.

Importance of Acknowledgment and Open Communication
The report further revealed that 58% of employees stress the importance of having their opinions and ideas welcomed by colleagues. This form of inclusion helps create a more engaging work environment. "It's clear that acknowledgement and a safe, open environment are at the heart of a thriving workplace," commented Sashi Kumar, Indeed India Head of Sales.
Moreover, nearly 64% of employees reported that their companies promote creative thinking, enhancing their sense of connection. Additionally, 61% appreciated the freedom to express themselves openly, feeling more engaged in workplaces that encourage idea-sharing and inclusion.
Fostering Creativity and Employee Engagement
The report highlights that an open environment valuing creativity boosts satisfaction and helps manage workplace stress. By encouraging open communication, recognising achievements, and fostering creativity, companies can deepen employees' connection to their roles and nurture a thriving workplace culture.
Sashi Kumar added that companies prioritising recognition and inclusion will be better positioned to attract, retain, and inspire motivated workforces. Addressing these areas benefits both employee well-being and business success.
The findings indicate that companies promoting creative thinking help employees feel more connected. This approach fosters an inclusive atmosphere where individuals feel valued for their contributions.
In conclusion, the report emphasises the significance of acknowledgment from leadership in enhancing employee morale. It also highlights the role of open communication in creating an engaging work environment where creativity is encouraged.
