What Congress has done for Amethi? asks CM Adityanath

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday assured BJP government's all-out support to the development of Amethi-constituency of Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi.

"What has the Congress done for Amethi? I have given jobs to the poor, houses to the homeless. I wonder where was the money going then," said Adityanath.

Adityanath said, "We will not let land acquisition in the name of Rajiv Gandhi Foundation."

He took a dig at Rober Vadra, saying "Gandhi family son-in-law tried to acquire land somewhere else and now we won't let son (Rahul Gandhi) acquire land in Uttar Pradesh."

"Italy, not Amethi, was in Rahul Gandhi's agenda. Smriti Irani has made the Congress leader come here," Said the CM.

This is CM Adityanath's maiden visit to Amethi since he took the reins in March. Adityanath has often referred to Gandhi as 'shehzade' (scion) and 'vanshwad' (dynast).

The BJP mega show on Tuesday is expected to act as a dampener for the big move in Congress ranks.
