Gloomy Sunday for Sheila, Congress in Delhi; What caused the debacle?

New Delhi, Dec 8: It's a gloomy Sunday for Sheila Dikshit. After ruling Delhi for three consecutive terms, Congress party has lost out to BJP and the very new Aam Aadmi Party. A rather poor show.

So what caused the debacle? Anti-incumbency wave and BJP's star campaigner Narendra Modi are two major factors. Contrary to Congress'statement that Modi is irrelevant outside Gujarat, news from delhi indicates that Modi has very well influenced the Delhi polls.

Election in Delhi is different from the rest of state polls, thanks to its location. The feat of BJP in Delhi indicates the failure of UPA government at the centre. If Modi factor has influenced Delhi assembly elections, it is sure to make an impact on Lok Sabha elections 2014 too.
