Wet spell over East central, NE and South India during next 4 days, predicts IMD
People in several parts of India are reeling under harsh spell of heat waves. But they may have some respite in a few days. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday predicted that there are chances that no heatwave would persist over most parts of India during the next 5 days.

"No heat wave conditions over most parts of India during the next 5 days," the met department said in a statement.
The weather agency also predicted a wet spell over east-central, northeast India and Southeast Peninsular India during the next four days. ''No significant change in maximum temperatures over rest parts of India during the next 3-4 days,'' the IMD said.
In Kerala, due to humid air and high temperature, hot and discomfort weather very likely over the state on April 22-23. Also, duststorm very likely at isolated places over south Haryana, northeast Rajasthan and West Uttar Pradesh
on April 23.
According to the IMD, in Eat India, light/moderate scattered to fairly widespread rainfall with thunderstorm/lightning/gusty winds very likely over the region during next 4 days and gradual reduction thereafter.
The IMD also said, hailstorm is likely at isolated places over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim on 22nd April.
It has also predicted over Odisha during 22nd-24th April and over Bihar on 24th & 25th April. Heavy rainfall very likely at isolated places over Odisha on 24th April.
Light to moderate scattered to fairly widespread rainfall with thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds is expected over northeast India during the next three days and a gradual reduction thereafter. Heavy rainfall is very likely at isolated places over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya on Saturday. The weather forecasting agency also predicted similar weather conditions over the central parts of India, including East Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh during the next four days and a gradual reduction thereafter. Hailstorms are predicted at isolated places over Vidarbha on April 24.
IMD also predicted rainfall over southern states. "Light isolated to scattered rainfall with thunderstorm/lightning/gusty winds very likely over Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal and Kerala & Mahe during the next 5 days," the weather agency said.
