West Bengal: Teachers' test now on Oct 11, Bengal promises 'full transparency'
Kolkata, Aug 31: The Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) examination in West Bengal, which was postponed to October 4 in the wake of disappearance of question papers has been rescheduled to October 11, the state government said on Monday, stressing "full transparency" would be ensured.
Conducted by the West Bengal Board of Primary Education, the TET examination scheduled for Sunday was postponed to October 4 after a bunch of question papers "mysteriously" disappeared on Friday from a bus while being transported to Hooghly district.

"Relief camps due to floods are still going on plus elections are being held in some places. In addition, there are employment exams going on. After discussing with the WB primary education board, we have decided to hold the exams on Oct 11.
"To prevent all these overlaps and problems we are rescheduling it," Chief Secretary Sanjay Mitra told IANS here.
The Mamata Banerjee government subsequently directed initiating action against the department of posts whose services were utilised to transport the question papers.
Suspecting foul play behind the disappearance of the papers, Left Front chairman Biman Bose said like the multi-crore-rupee Saradha scam, the "Trinamool was neck-deep involved" in the "TET scam".
Left Front on Sunday demanded a judicial probe into the matter.
Mitra said guidelines for the exams will be available on newspapers and other media and urged parents to read the instructions carefully to enable smooth proceedings,
"Full transparency and confidentiality will be taken," he said.
