West Bengal Nun Gangrape case: Second accused arrested in Kolkata
Kolkata, March 26: The CID has arrested another person in connection with the nun rape case. This is the second arrest to be carried out today. Earlier in the day a person by the name Salim had been picked up from Mumbai.
His
questioning
led
to
the
arrest
of
the
second
person
who
was
picked
up
in
West
Bengal.
The
CID
is
hopeful
that
more
arrests
would
be
carried
out
in
the
next
couple
of
days.
Five
more
to
go:
The
CID
has
now
picked
up
two
of
the
seven
persons
involved
in
the
rape
and
robbery
incident.
The
CID
had
questioned
several
persons
in
connection
with
the
case
over
the
past
couple
of
days.
The
questioning
of
a
security
guard
too
recently
had
given
the
CID
a
fair
idea
of
how
planned
this
crime
was.
The
guard
had
told
them
the
lights
had
mysteriously
gone
off
just
before
the
incident.
The CBI which was handed over the probe is yet to take over the investigation. Currently the CBI's Bengal unit is assisting the CID until a team from Delhi officially takes over the probe.
