West Bengal: Ex-TMC MLA shot, seriously injured

Bongaon(WB), Sept 24: Former Trinamool Congress MLA from Bagda Dulal Bar was shot at and critically injured by unidentified assailants at the local market this evening, the police said.

Bar was present at the local Bagda market in Bongaon sub-division of North 24 Parganas district, when miscreants opened fire on him, said district Additional Superintended of Police (North), Tarun Halder.

The TMC leader sustained injuries on his head and was first rushed to a local hospital, then shifted to Bongaon sub-divisional hospital and later on rushed to Kolkata for further treatment, Halder said.

Investigations were on to trace the whereabouts of the miscreants involved in the incident, the ASP added.
