West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee Sustains 'Major Injury': TMC
The TMC announced that Mamata Banerjee, its chairperson and the Chief Minister of West Bengal, had suffered "a major injury." The party's tweet confirmed that the Bengal CM had sustained a major injury and requested people to keep her in their thoughts and prayers. According to reports, the chief minister was taking a walk in the premises of her Kalighat residence when the accident took place.

"Our chairperson Mamata Banerjee sustained a major injury. Please keep her in your prayers," the party said in a post on X.
"Wishing Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee a speedy recovery. Our prayers are with her for a quick return to good health," Sukanta Majumdar, state president of Trinamool Congress said in post on X.
The party did not disclose the cause of her injury, but according to information obtained by India Today TV, the West Bengal Chief Minister sustained the injury at her residence.
Images of Mamata Banerjee posted on the party's social media platform showed her in a hospital setting with a visible wound on her forehead.
She was later taken to her residence after she received stitches on her forehead. She was accompanied by nephew and TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee.
Shortly after the Trinamool Congress shared images of Mamata Banerjee in the hospital with a forehead injury, various political figures conveyed their wishes for her speedy recovery.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi conveyed his well-wishes on Twitter, stating, "I pray for a quick recovery and the best health for Mamata Didi."
Congress MP Shashi Tharoor expressed his astonishment upon viewing the images and extended his wishes for the West Bengal Chief Minister's swift and complete recovery.
Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, also extended his wishes for Mamata Banerjee's speedy recovery.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal echoed similar sentiments on Twitter, stating, "Pray for ur speedy recovery Didi. God bless u (sic)."
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin conveyed his deep concern and expressed his wishes for Mamata Banerjee's rapid recovery during this challenging period.
PDP chief and former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Mehbooba Mufti, expressed her distress upon seeing the images of an injured Mamata Banerjee and offered prayers for her swift recovery.
In June of last year, Mamata Banerjee experienced a leg injury when her helicopter had to make an emergency landing at Sevoke airbase near Siliguri due to adverse weather conditions. She suffered ligament injuries to her left knee and hip joints.
Several months later, in September, she encountered another injury to her left leg while traveling in Spain. Subsequently, the Chief Minister revealed that her injured leg had developed an infection.
