West Bengal: 3 arrested by CBI in chit fund case

Kolkata, Aug 5: The CBI today arrested three directors of Silicon Group, a city-based chit fund company, after a five-hour grilling by the investigation agency.

According to a senior CBI official, Shiv Narayan Das, Tushar Jana and another person, all directors of Silicon Group, faced a lot of complaints from the subscribers.

"After questioning for five hours, we arrested the three. They were accused of cheating people by making false promises of huge returns. During questioning they failed to give any proper reply," the CBI official said.

Das is known to be the mentor of Saradha Group chairman Sudipto Sen, who is presently languishing in jail.
