Were the exit polls in 2018 accurate: Here is what was predicted
Voting in Karnataka concluded on Wednesday. The exit polls usually tend to get it right or sometimes completely wrong.
In 2018 many agencies had conducted exit polls. While some were close others got it completely wrong.

The BJP ended up with 104 seats, while the Congress had 78 seats. The BJP won 37 seats and the others ended up with 3.
Times Now-VMR predicted 80 to 93, while for the Congress it was 90-103. For the JD(S) the predicted number as at 31-39.
NEWSX-CNX predicted only 72-92 for the BJP and 106-118 for the Congress. For the JD(S) the predicted number was at 35-39.
India Today-Axis predicted 106 for the Congress and in the case of the BJP it was 79-92. For the JD(S) the prediction was at 22-30.
ABP News-CVoter had predicted that the BJP would end up with 97-109, while the Congress would bag 87-99. The JD(S) was predicted to win 21-30.

NewsX-CNX was one of the very few which had predicted the elections in 2018 right. The tallies for the all the three parties were predicted correctly.
If one looks at the major exit polls, three got it completely wrong, while two got it right. One of them got the BJP's tally right, but in the case of the other parties it was wrong.
However if one looks at all the predictions, then one thing every channel got right is that none had predicted a full majority for any party. The Karnataka Assembly elections in 2018 was a hung one.
