Weather Update: IMD Predicts Heavy Rainfall In These States For Next 5 Days

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday predicted heavy rainfall for the next five days in several states including Maharashtra, Goa, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Maharashtra, and others.

"A fresh spell of heavy to very heavy rainfall likely over south Peninsular India from 02nd July 2023. A cyclonic circulation lies over central parts of south Uttar Pradesh, neighborhood in lower and middle levels," the IMD said in its latest update.

Northwest India

According to IMD, light/moderate scattered to fairly widespread rainfall very likely to continue over the region during next 2 days. Isolated Heavy rainfall very likely over Uttarakhand on 30th June, 03rd and 04th July; West Rajasthan.

West India

IMD has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall with extremely heavy rainfall at isolated places in the districts of Junagadh, Amreli, Navsari, Dangs and Valsad districts. Several parts of the state are expected to receive light to moderate rainfall till July 5.

East and adjoining Northeast India

According to the IMD, there is a high likelihood of fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate rainfall, with isolated instances of heavy to very heavy rainfall, in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Bihar, Assam & Meghalaya, and Arunachal Pradesh. Additionally, isolated heavy rainfall is expected in Gangetic West Bengal on June 30th and July 3rd, in Jharkhand on July 3rd, and in Odisha on July 3rd and 4th.

Central India

Light, moderate fairly widespread to widespread rainfall with isolated heavy falls very likely over Madhya Pradesh during next few days.

South India

IMD has warned of heavy to very heavy rainfall in parts of Goa until July 4, as the coastal state continues to experience showers. According to an IMD bulletin issued on Friday, there is a high likelihood of heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few locations until July 4.
