IMD: Spell of hailstorm, rainfall in central, south India over next 2-3 days
Amid rising temperatures, several parts of India are likely to receive rainfall over the next two days. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), a fresh spell of thunderstorm and hailstorm activity is expected over central parts of the country between April 25 and 27.
''Hailstorm very likely at isolated places over Vidarbha during April 25 and 27; over south Chhattisgarh on 26th and East Madhya Pradesh on 26th & 27th April,'' IMD said.

The weather agency also predicted that there is no heat wave conditions likely over the country during next 5 days.
Meanwhile, a cyclonic circulation lies over western parts of Vidarbha and a trough/wind discontinuity runs this cyclonic circulation to South Interior Karnataka in lower levels.
Under their influence, several states in south India, including Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal and Kerala are likely to receive rain or thundershowers during the next five days.
According to the IMD,''Light scattered/fairly widespread rainfall with thunderstorm/lightning/gusty winds very likely over Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal and Kerala & Mahe during next 5 days.''
The IMD has issued a yellow alert over all the aforementioned states during this forecast period. The advisory urges the residents to 'be aware' of the local weather situation, according to Weather channel.
Moreover, IMD's regional met centre in Thiruvananthapuram has also declared heavy rainfall alerts over Kerala's Idduki and Pathanamthitta districts.
Hailstorm are also likely over isolated places in Odisha and Jharkhand from April 27th.
Similar weather conditions will prevail over northeast India during next 5 days. Heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya during April 27th-29.
''Light/moderate scattered to fairly widespread rainfall/snowfall with thunderstorm/lightning very likely over Western Himalayan Region during 26th-29th April and isolated to scattered rainfall with thunderstorm/lightning over plains of Northwest India during 27th-29th April and increase thereafter,'' the IMD said.
