weather today: Delhi braces for 'polluted' days

Bengaluru is likely to witness heavy rainfall and thundershowers while the national capital would have polluted days ahead in the wake of Diwali.

Here is the weather for Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad and Mumbai for October 18.

Bengaluru:

Bengaluru has received heavy to very heavy rains and thundershowers during the month of September and October. The reason for the sudden decrease of rain over most parts of Karnataka including Bengaluru can be attributed to the formation of a depression over west-central Bay of Bengal. The maximum temperature will be recorded around 26 degree Celsius and humidity will be around 75 percent.

Delhi:

Delhiites woke up to a pleasant morning with the minimum temperature settling at 18.7 degree Celsius, one notch above the season's average. The maximum temperature will be recorded around 34 degree Celsius and Humidity around 40 percent. Clear skies have been predicted for the entire day. However, Delhiites will witness critically polluted days ahead of Diwali because of the high levels of pollution in air. The stubble burning being practiced in Punjab and Haryana is also adding on to the pollution levels.

Hyderabad:

The capital city of Telangana, Hyderabad, has been witnessing light rains for the last few days. As per the weather, the city is expected to witness light rains in the coming 24 hours. However, the city will witness cloudy weather with the maximum temperature of 31 degree Celsius and humidity around 67 per cent.

Mumbai:

In the last 24 hours, Mumbai witnessed rain to the tune of 32 mm, Chennai 24 mm and Goa 21 mm of rain. As per Skymet Weather, it is anticipated that the weather will become dry and temperatures are likely to rise over the state capital. However, the maximum temperature will be recorded around 33 degree Celsius and humidity around 54 per cent.

Chennai:

The city of Chennai has been witnessing light rains for the past few days. The last 24 hours were quite rainy for the city of Chennai with moderate showers lashing the state capital. Meanwhile, the maximum temperature will be recorded around 31 degree Celsius and Humidity will be around 68 per cent.
