We need to reinvent our idea of schooling: Jaggi Vasudev

New Delhi, Dec 2: The idea of schooling in India needs to be reinvented as the present education system is producing many youth who are not skilled enough to do jobs, said Spiritual thinker Jaggi Vasudev Sadhguru on Friday.
"The present education system leads to a situation where youth claim to be educated in their head but there is nothing in their head that looks like education," he said while talking to reporters at the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit being held here.
"It is a dangerous trend that we are producing youth who are not skilled. However they have an attitude and aspirations of their own. We are unknowingly producing a hot bed for militancy and crime," he also said.
"We need to have regular assessment of children going to school to check their ability," he added.
"What are they doing in school, at the end of school, what is their their ability to do things in the world. What amount of knowledge do they have. These things need to assessed,"further he said.
Jaggi Vasudev born in Karnataka ( Sadhguru) is the founder of the non-profit organisation, Isha Foundation that works in the area of environment, rural education and propagation of yoga as a way of life.
