Wayanad Needs BJP For Development: Navya Haridas

As votes are tallied for the elections in Jharkhand and Maharashtra, along with bypolls across 15 states, Navya Haridas, the BJP candidate for Wayanad, expressed optimism about her party's success. She stated that if residents desire progress in Wayanad, they will opt for the NDA. Haridas remarked, "Last time Rahul Gandhi won from Wayanad but chose to keep Rae Bareli instead."

Allegations Against Congress

Haridas has accused the Congress of employing various strategies to manipulate voters. She alleged that the Congress party is attempting to sway voters by distributing kits, money, and liquor due to their fear of losing this election. Haridas shared these concerns while speaking to ANI.

The Wayanad constituency is witnessing a fierce battle between Priyanka Gandhi of Congress, Navya Haridas of BJP, and Sathyan Mokeri from the Left. Priyanka Gandhi is contesting as a United Democratic Front (UDF) candidate from the seat vacated by her brother Rahul Gandhi.

Criticism of Rahul Gandhi

Haridas criticised Rahul Gandhi for allegedly neglecting crucial issues in Parliament when he held the Wayanad seat. She warned that similar neglect might occur if Priyanka Gandhi Vadra represents the area in future. Haridas claimed that neither Rahul nor Priyanka has engaged with Wayanad's people to understand or address their actual needs.

Rahul Gandhi vacated the Wayanad seat after being elected to Lok Sabha from Raebareli in Uttar Pradesh earlier this year. If Priyanka wins from Wayanad, she will become the third member of the Gandhi family to enter Parliament.

Wayanad has traditionally been a stronghold for Congress. However, with new candidates vying for power, including BJP's Navya Haridas and Left's Sathyan Mokeri, this election could reshape its political landscape significantly.
