The derailment occurred involving four coaches of the Sabarmati-Agra superfast train on Monday morning, near Ajmer station in Agra. It resulted in minor injuries to several onboard passengers, as officials reported.
However, no casualties were reported in the mishap. According to Railways officials, the express train was derailed around 1 AM on Monday while en route to Agra. Four coaches, including the engine of the passenger train, were derailed, as reported by ANI.

"The incident occurred as the train crossed Ajmer station and approached Madar station. The reason for the derailment is currently unknown," stated Shashi Kiran, Chief Public Relations Officer, North Western Railway (NWR) Zone, to news agency PTI. No loss of life was reported, and train movement to and from the Delhi side has been restored, the official confirmed.
"The train movement in the up/down direction towards the Delhi side has already commenced. We are also preparing to resume services in the Uttar Pradesh direction," he added. A helpdesk has been established at the Ajmer station by the NWR, along with a helpline number (0145-2429642) for relatives of passengers traveling on the train.

"Six trains have been cancelled and two trains have been diverted to other routes," Kiran noted.
Earlier, unverified media reports suggested that the Sabarmati-Agra express train had collided with a goods train from the opposite direction, resulting in the derailment. A railway official mentioned that the locomotive pilot had applied emergency brakes, but the collision could not be avoided.
