Thankfully, authorities have confirmed that no fatalities have been reported as of now. However, some individuals sustained injuries in the blast. According to DCP Traffic Jyoti Patel, the situation is being closely monitored, and efforts to control the fire are ongoing.

"There is no report of any fatality or grievous injury as of now," Patel said. MLA Dharmendrasinh Vaghela also confirmed the occurrence of the fire, mentioning that he had been informed by Bajwa Sarpanch Ajit Patel. Although refinery officials could not be reached immediately due to their involvement in dousing the fire, Vaghela stated that while injuries had been reported, there have been no confirmed deaths.

The explosion prompted the evacuation of workers present at the refinery during the blast. Smoke from the fire was visible from miles away, and authorities are working swiftly to control the situation.

This incident follows a tragic fire in December 2021 at the IOCL refinery in Haldia, West Bengal, where three lives were lost, and over 40 people were injured in a similar blaze.

At that time, the fire was attributed to a flash fire, which led to severe burn injuries. The district administration had to step in to provide medical support, ensuring that the injured were transported to higher medical institutions.

As the situation in Vadodara continues to develop, authorities are focusing on managing the immediate aftermath, ensuring the safety of workers, and preventing further damage.
