Watch S S Rajamouli gives a shout out to ‘Naatu Naatu’ team at Oscars

'Naatu Naatu,' the popular song from Rajamouli's RRR won the Oscars for the best original song.
The song was performed live at the 95th Academy Awards by Rahul Sipalganj and Kaala Bhairava along with dancers at Los Angeles. As Rahul made his way out of the auditorium S S Rajamouli was seen cheering him. The ace director also gave a shout out to the dancers, who received a standing and mind-blowing ovation from the audience for performing the hook-step in the dance effortlessly.

"Naatu Naatu' was performed live at the Oscars 2023. Rahul Sipalganj and Koala Bhairava performed the number with dancers from Los Angeles. Rajamouli was seen giving a high-five to Rahul and waved at the dancers who performed on stage.
The song 'Naatu Naatu' composed by M M Keeravani has become a global sensation. It has been viewed millions of times online and continues to garner attention although the song is over a year old.
The Oscars were awarded to Keeravani and lyricist, Chandrabose, who sang a version of the hit by The Carpenters, 'Top of the World.'
The Oscars was attended by Rajamouli and the lead stars of the film, Junior NTR and Ram Charan Tea.
'Naatu Naatu' beat competitors like Lady Gaga's Hold My Hand from Top Gun: Maverick, Rihanna's Lift Me Up from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, This Is A Life from Everything Everywhere All At Once, and Applause from Tell It Like A Woman.
For India this was the second win at the Oscars after the Indian film, 'The Elephant Whisperers. The film won in the Best Documentary Short Subject. All That Breathes was also nominated for the Best Documentary Film. The Oscar however went to Navalny in that category.
The 'Naaatu Naatu' performance was introduced by. Deepika Padukone. She is the third Indian to attend as presenter after Persis Khambatta and Priyanka Chopra. The dance was performed by Lauren Gottlieb.

Keeravani and Bose joined a select group of Indians to win the Oscars. Costume designer, Bhanu Athena, composer A R Rehman, lyricist Gulzar and sound engineer Rasul Pookutty have won the Oscars in the past. Legendary filmmaker, Satyajit Ray has won an honorary award. 'Naatu Naatu' is the first Indian son and RRR the first Indian film to win an Oscar.

RRR is set in British India and the movie became a rage across the world. It is still running to full houses in Japan. It also held its largest screening yet in Los Angeles, where the crowd could be seen dancing to Naatu Naatu.'
The song was filmed outside the presidential palace in pre-war Ukraine. The dance is a battle between Ram Charan and Jr. NTR, who play Raju and Bheem versus their British counterparts. Both beat their British counterparts in the dance-off.
