WATCH - Protests Erupt In Delhi Over Attacks On Hindus In Bangladesh
New Delhi witnessed a wave of protests on Tuesday as members of civil society and various organizations gathered outside the Bangladesh High Commission to decry atrocities against Hindus in Bangladesh.
Demonstrators voiced their outrage against the rising incidents of violence targeting religious minorities, calling for urgent action to safeguard their rights, as reported by ANI.

Shashi Tharoor Calls for Strong Response
Addressing the issue, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor emphasized the importance of conveying India's concerns to Bangladesh. "The well-being and safety of minorities are crucial," Tharoor remarked, adding that the recent reports of assaults on minorities are alarming. He urged for diplomatic engagement, asserting that India must closely monitor the situation and express its disapproval.
Kailash Satyarthi Raises Alarm on Human Rights Day
On the occasion of Human Rights Day, Nobel Peace laureate Kailash Satyarthi issued a fervent plea to uphold the universal values of freedom, dignity, and equality. Reacting to the attacks on minorities and the vandalism of temples in Bangladesh, Satyarthi expressed deep concern over the escalating crisis.
"I am deeply troubled by the alarming situation in Bangladesh," Satyarthi stated. Drawing from over four decades of collaboration with organizations in Bangladesh on education and child rights, he reflected on the communal harmony that once characterized the region.
Satyarthi condemned the recent violence, which he said had plunged countless individuals into fear and jeopardized their fundamental rights. "If the volatile situation is not addressed urgently, the repercussions will extend far beyond Bangladesh, threatening the stability and peace of the entire South Asian region," he warned.
Appeal to Nobel Laureate Muhammad Yunus
In his statement, Satyarthi also appealed to fellow Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus, urging him to take decisive action to address the unfolding crisis. "I call upon Yunus to rise as a beacon of moral courage and compassionate leadership," Satyarthi said, expressing confidence in Yunus's ability to mitigate the violence and restore the rights of the affected communities.
Growing International Concern
The protests and statements from prominent figures underscore the growing international concern over the treatment of minorities in Bangladesh. As calls for immediate action intensify, the focus remains on ensuring justice, safeguarding human rights, and restoring communal harmony in the region.
The unfolding developments in Bangladesh have not only triggered unrest but also drawn global attention to the fragility of minority rights in the region, with many hoping for a swift and peaceful resolution.
