An elephant and jeep safari within Assam's Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve was embarked upon by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Saturday morning.
The journey was initiated with an elephant safari in the Mihimukh area of the Central Kohora Range within the park, followed by a jeep safari in the same vicinity. Accompanying the Prime Minister were park director Sonali Ghosh and other senior forest officials, as reported by ANI.

Later in the day, the unveiling of the 125-ft high 'Statue of Valour' honoring the renowned Ahom general Lachit Barphukan in Jorhat is on the agenda for Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Following this event, the Prime Minister will proceed to Meleng Meteli Pothar, located in the Jorhat district, to inaugurate and lay foundation stones for numerous central and state projects amounting to approximately ₹18,000 crore, as reported by the Mint.

Additionally, a public address is scheduled to be delivered by him at the same venue. From March 8 to 10, Prime Minister Narendra Modi's itinerary includes visits to Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, West Bengal, and Uttar Pradesh. As per a press release from the Prime Minister's Office, the visit to Assam will kickstart on March 8.
The following day, at around 5:45 AM, he is scheduled to visit Kaziranga National Park, followed by participation in the 'Viksit Bharat Viksit North East' program in Itanagar at 10:30 AM. During this event, he will inaugurate the Sela Tunnel and launch the UNNATI scheme, valued at approximately ₹10,000 crore.
Furthermore, various development projects totalling around ₹55,600 crores in Manipur, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Sikkim, Tripura, and Arunachal Pradesh will be inaugurated, dedicated, and have foundation stones laid by him. Subsequently, around 12:15 PM, the Prime Minister is expected to arrive in Jorhat to unveil the impressive statue of the esteemed Ahom general Lachit Borphukan.
He will also participate in a public program in Jorhat and inaugurate, dedicate, and lay foundation stones for multiple development projects valued at over ₹17,500 crore in Assam.
