Mera Desh Hi Dharam or my country is my religion was a new song dedicated to the jawans who sacrificed their lives for the nation. The song was dedicated by Salim Merchant on the occasion of Independence Day.

Salim said that he had met Prime Minister, Narendra Modi a few months back. He had suggested to us to compose a song dedicating it to the jawans. He said that the song has been composed for our jawans who sacrifice their lives for the nation. If we are sitting comfortably in our homes today it is because of our jawans. If we are independent today, then it is because of our jawans, the music composer also said.
