Watch: Kharge's Witty Remark on G20 Summit Evokes Laughter

Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge on Monday took a potshot at the BJP over the G20 Summit held in Delhi, last week.

Kharge made a witty comment, joking that the '0' in G20 seemed to have been replaced by the lotus symbol, the election symbol of the BJP. This lighthearted remark sparked laughter among the parliamentarians.

Nonetheless, Speaker of the House Jagdeep Dhankhar called Kharge's demeanour as 'agitated' and 'angry'. In support of the G20, BJP leader Piyush Goyal intervened, but Kharge promptly stressed the importance of unity for the nation's progress.

The clip of the humourous jab has now gone viral.

The five-day Special Session of Parliament was kicked off on Monday at the old Parliament building.

The Prime Minister on Monday paid tributes to "every brick" of the old Parliament building and said the MPs will enter the new building with "new hope and confidence".

In his over an hour-long speech in Lok Sabha, PM Modi remembered the journey of India's democracy and said the last day in this heritage building should be dedicated to the over 7,500 parliamentarians who served in this building since Independence. Parliament will shift to the new building on the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi on Tuesday.
