'Was Under Pressure, Made Students Beat Up Classmate As I'm Handicapped,' Says UP Teacher
The school teacher who was seen in a viral video, allegedly encouraging students to assault a fellow classmate in Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, spoke out on Saturday. She said that the circulated video was edited and truncated, and she had no intention of promoting such actions. Additionally, she emphasized the unity between Hindus and Muslims in the local community.
"The video that was made viral was edited and cut, I had no such intentions...in our place, Hindus and Muslims stay with unity and we have more Muslim students in our school...there was pressure from the parents of the child to be strict with him. I am handicapped I can't get up...he was not doing homework for last 2 months...so I made 2-3 students beat him up so that he would start doing his work...,'' said Tripta Tyagi, Principal of Neha Public School seen in viral video instigating students to beat their classmate.

"What I said was 'Muhamdan mothers' must not take their kids to their uncles' homes as the exam is approaching. But they cut this video and took the 'Muhamdan' word...I had no such intentions...I have made a mistake and I seek apology with folded hands," she added.
The father of the child featured in the video, where his classmates are seen assaulting him, has revealed that his nephew recorded the video and the teacher compelled the students to repeatedly subject the child to the beatings. He asserted that the child underwent hours of torment and emphasized that this issue transcends religious boundaries, urging the legal system to follow its course.
"My son, aged seven, was subjected to this incident on August 24. The teacher coerced the students to repeatedly beat my child. The video was recorded by my nephew, who had visited the school for a different purpose... My child, just seven years old, endured hours of torture. He is traumatized... This isn't about Hindu or Muslim; we expect the legal system to take appropriate action," expressed the father, quoted by ANI.
Muzaffarnagar Police confirmed the registration of a complaint in the case, ensuring necessary measures will be taken. Muzaffarnagar DM Arvind Mallappa shared that the child shown in the viral video is receiving counseling sessions from the Child Welfare Committee.
"With the video circulating since yesterday evening, an investigation was conducted. It was discovered that the video was captured by the boy's uncle... A formal complaint was lodged this morning. The Child Welfare Committee is currently providing counseling sessions to the child. As the complaint has been registered, appropriate actions will be taken," stated Muzaffarnagar DM Arvind Mallappa, quoted by ANI.
