Rahul, Modi take on each other in Assam
Barpeta/ Nagaon (Assam), April 19: A war of words has broken out between BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi and Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi after both the leaders made open attacks on each other today in their respective rallies in the state.

It all began when Modi was addressing a rally in Barpeta today, where he openly challenged Rahul for a face-off. "Rahulji you are in Assam today, I am in Assam today, how about a face-off," Modi asked.

Modi then said that Rahul keeps talking about small scale industrial growth, how come the industries here are closed, answer that.

Rahul and Modi were addressing rallies around the same time in Assam

Responding to Modi's challenge, Rahul, who was also in Assam and was addressing a rally around the same time in Nagaon said: "Remember what the Britishers did? They made Hindus and Muslims fight against each other. That is what BJP and its prime ministerial candidate Modi do.

They will divide the country like the Britishers did."

This is the first time that both the leaders have openly taken each others names and launched an attack.
