Waqf Amendment Law Aims to End Land Jihad, Asserts Telangana BJP MLA T Raja Singh

On Sunday, BJP's Telangana MLA T Raja Singh stated that the amended Waqf legislation would end land jihad in India. During a Ram Navami procession, he mentioned that land jihadis have faced challenges since the saffron government took charge. Singh highlighted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's passing of the Waqf Amendment Bill would prevent the installation of boards claiming land under Waqf notices.

Waqf Law to Stop Land Jihad, Claims MLA

President Droupadi Murmu approved the Waqf Amendment Bill, 2025, on Saturday. This approval followed intense debates in Parliament, allowing the bill to become law. Singh questioned how the Waqf board's land holdings increased from 4,000 acres at independence to 9.5 lakh acres now. He reassured Muslims that the new law wouldn't seize their lands, citing Modi's "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas" slogan.

Amended Legislation and Its Implications

Singh accused AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi of being a major adversary to Muslims. He dismissed Owaisi's Supreme Court challenge against the amended Waqf law as ineffective. Owaisi argued that the legislation removed protections for Waqfs and religious endowments of Hindus, Jains, and Sikhs. Singh claimed that declaring India a Hindu Rashtra is a demand of every Hindu.

The Ram Navami procession led by Singh started in the afternoon and continued until late. Hyderabad City Police deployed around 20,000 personnel to ensure peaceful processions. Commissioner CV Anand monitored events using live drone and CCTV footage, issuing instructions to field officers as needed.

Ensuring Peaceful Celebrations

With cooperation from Sri Ramanavami Shobha Yatra organisers, government officials, devotees, and Hyderabad residents, the procession concluded peacefully. The police expressed gratitude for everyone's support in maintaining order during the event.

"On behalf of our Hyderabad City Police, I thank everyone," Anand said in a release. The police credited collaboration among various stakeholders for the successful completion of the Ram Navami celebrations without any disturbances.
