Wanted In India, Self-Styled Godman Nithyananda Swami Claims Ayodhya Ram Temple Invitation

Self-Styled Godman and wanted fugitive in a rape case in Karnataka, Nithyananda Swami, claims to have received an invitation to the inauguration of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. Operating under the title 'Supreme Pontiff of Hinduism' within his self-proclaimed jurisdiction of 'Kailasa,' Nithyananda asserts his presence at the event.

Sharing the news on social media platform X, Nithyananda posted, "Don't miss this historic and extraordinary event! Lord Rama will be formally invoked in the temple's main deity during the traditional Prana Pratishtha and will be landing to grace the entire world!" The post further declared, "Having been formally invited, the Supreme Pontiff of Hinduism, Bhagavan Sri Nithyananda Paramashivam will be attending this grand event."

Despite legal troubles, particularly a 2010 rape case where he was arrested and later released on bail, Nithyananda alleges he has been invited to the temple inauguration. In 2020, his driver claimed that the self-styled godman had fled the country.

As the much-anticipated consecration ceremony of the Ram Temple approaches, the temple will be opened for 'darshan' to the public from January 23. The temple complex, designed for self-sufficiency, includes two sewage treatment plants, a water treatment plant, and a dedicated power supply. Accessibility features such as lifts and ramps are provided at the entrance for elderly and specially-abled visitors.

The state government ensures affordable accommodation, with prices capped at Rs 1,500 to Rs 2,500 for certified facilities through the Holy Ayodhya app. Tent cities, equipped with a ten-bed hospital and supported by 150 volunteer doctors, will accommodate devotees.

The temple premises feature a fire brigade post, langars for ample food during the inauguration, and a pilgrim facilitation complex. Devotees will enter from the east and exit from the south, ascending 32 steps to the three-story temple. To address concerns about summer heat, a convenient facility eliminates the need for barefoot walking from the center to the temple.
