Wagh Bakri Director Parag Desai Dies Following Street Dog Attack

Businessman Parag Desai, a top executive at Wagh Bakri Tea Group, passed away on Sunday days after he was attacked by stray dogs outside his residence.

Desai was aged 49. He is survived by his wife Vidisha and daughter Parisha.

On October 15, he was attacked by stray dogs outside his house and he suffered a brain haemorrhage after a fall, according to a report in NDTV.

"With profound grief, we regret to inform the sad demise of our beloved Parag Desai," the company announced the news in an Instagram post.

Desai was transferred to Zydus Hospital from Shelby Hospital for a surgical procedure. However, he died during the treatment on Sunday.

Congress MP Shaktisinh Gohil offered condolence on on X and said, "Very sad news coming in. Parag Desai, Director and owner Wagh Bakri Tea passed away. He had a brain haemorrhage following a fall. May his soul rest in peace. My condolences to the entire Wagh Bakri family across India,"

He served as one of the two executive directors on the Wagh Bakri Tea Group's board, playing a pivotal role in steering the company's evolution into the realms of tea lounges and e-commerce.

As reported by Exchange4Media, Desai, possessing more than three decades of entrepreneurial expertise, took the helm of the Group's International Business, Sales, and Marketing endeavors. He played an integral role in prominent industry associations such as the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and was a highly regarded figure in the sector.
