Vizag: Woman raped by drunk man in broad daylight, onlookers shoot

A shocking video allegedly shows a 28-year-old woman being raped on the footpath of Vishakhapatnam in broad daylight while onlookers do nothing to help her.

Instead, one of the witnesses, an auto driver, recorded the entire incident on his mobile phone and later handed over to the police. The video clearly shows the man forcing himself on the woman in full public view.

The rapist, who has been arrested, was identified as Ganji Siva. The 21-year old rapist was fully drunk while he was raping the woman.

The incident took place between Railway New Colony and Railway Station at 2 pm. The woman was sitting under a tree when Siva sexually assaulted her. The woman has been admitted to a city hospital where she is being treated.

Siva made threatening gestures at passers-by, which discouraged them from helping the woman, police said.

The passers-by refused to pay heed to woman's desperate calls for help. Many captured the incident on their mobile phones.
