Viral Video: SpiceJet Flight Scene As Influencers Face Backlash Over Playing Loud Music
In the digital age, content creation often prioritises reactions over meaningful engagement. Some influencers, in their quest for attention, cross boundaries by disturbing others. One such influencer is under fire for lacking "civic sense." This trend highlights a shift towards seeking online validation rather than genuine creativity or societal contribution.
Recently, Varun Yadav, a social media influencer, posted a video on Instagram featuring himself and fellow influencer Aarush Bhola. In the clip, they enjoy loud music from a Bluetooth speaker while on a flight. The incident occurred at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport. The video has amassed over 15.6 million views and attracted significant criticism.
Public Reaction
The video faced backlash online, with users expressing their disapproval. One commenter tagged SpiceJet, questioning if any action was taken against the duo. They remarked, "Public nuisance is not content. Be better." Another user criticised the behaviour as "utterly ridiculous," while a third questioned why influencers feel entitled to disrupt public spaces for attention.
This isn't an isolated incident of influencers causing public disturbances. Earlier this year, an influencer from Hyderabad was charged for creating chaos in a mall. Vamshi shared a video on Instagram showing him entering the mall with bouncers and a briefcase. The Cybercrime police filed a case against him under Section 125 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for public nuisance.
Influencer Culture
The rise of influencer culture is not new; however, its evolution has led to prioritising online validation over creativity or societal impact. Many influencers push boundaries to gain likes, views, and followers. This relentless pursuit often results in antics that attract attention but lack substance or positive influence.
The increasing focus on garnering reactions rather than offering intellectually stimulating material raises concerns about the direction of content creation. As influencers continue to seek attention through disruptive actions, it becomes crucial to address these behaviours and promote more responsible content-creation practices.
