Viral Video Shows Railway Ticket Collector Slapping A Man Travelling Without Ticket; Suspended
Indian Railways on Thursday suspended a Travelling Ticket Examiner (TTE) after a video of him went viral on the internet, The video shows TTE slapping a man who was allegedly travelling without a ticket. According to the reports, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has ordered a probe, and till then the accused TTE will be suspended from his service.
The reports said the incident happened on train number 15203 bound from Barauni to Lucknow. In the video, other passengers can also be seen trying to intervene and stop the TTE who repeatedly slapped a man. They also asked the accused railway official the reason for the assault.
In the video, the man can be heard asking TTE, "maar kyu rahe ho (Why are you beating him)" and then "ticket doge tum (will you give the ticket)."

Replying to a video post, Indian Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said, "Zero tolerance for such misconduct, TTE has been suspended".
Earlier today, the Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of the Lucknow Division took action against the TTE saying "The concerned TTE has been suspended by the competent authority and an enquiry has been initiated against the concerned."
In a similar incident, last year, another TTE was expelled from his duty after he allegedly harassed a woman passenger in an inebriated condition in Bengaluru near Krishnaraja Puram railway station.
