Viral Video Of Woman Smoking While Holding Infant Triggers Outrage

With the rise of digital platforms, the boundaries of acceptable behavior are frequently challenged for online fame. A new video showing a woman smoking with an infant in her arms has triggered an outrage. The child is seen in the viral footage, visibly uncomfortable and coughing repeatedly.

In the video, the woman starts with her back to the camera while standing with the toddler. As the video goes on, she turns to face the camera and holds a cigarette between her fingers.

Social activist and journalist Deepika Narayan Bhardwaj posted the video with a caption that reads, "Feel terrible for kids around these reel monsters."

In another thread, Bhardwaj shared that the infant in the video is someone else's child.

"It's not her child. Scanned her TL to see if there's more abuse but this kid isn't seen in other reels. She must have taken someone's child. Just like 'Kuwari Begum' asked people to take others infants and sexually abuse them. All her videos are only about smoking."

Digital storyteller Neelesh Misra re-shared the video and wrote, "Smoking with an infant in her arms for a reel that will be forgotten on the flick of the thumb. This is criminal."

He also tagged the official X handles of National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) and Priyank Kanoongo, Chairperson of NCPCR.

"How can someone be so careless? The child's health should be the top priority," one user wrote.

Many demanded that authorities take action against the woman.

"True. This is a crime. The lady must be booked," demanded another.

"Cringe at its peak for real," added a third.

The video gathered over 7,98,000 views and prompted a backlash against the woman. Reacting to it, a user said, "She's sick and needs to be booked for child abuse."

Another user commented, "I could say that it is not her baby and she doesn't know to hold a baby. Baby is not feeling very secure too. Hope the parents stop giving their children to such irresponsible people."

"Her child or not..I think law should step in," claimed another user.
