Viral Video: Hundreds Of Delhi Metro Passengers Jump Exit Gates
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has reacted to a viral video showing passengers jumping over automatic fare collection (AFC) gates. The DMRC said the video is from Jama Masjid Metro station on the Violet Line and the incident happened on 13th February 2025.
Issuing clarification on the incident, the DMRC said some passengers crossed AFC games due to an unexpected surge.
Security staff and personnel were present to manage the situation, ensuring it remained under control.

The DMRC emphasised that the incident was not prolonged or chaotic, but rather a temporary response by a few individuals. The organisation reassured commuters that such occurrences are rare and handled promptly.
Delhi Police Arrests Cable Theft Suspects
In a separate incident, Delhi Police's Metro Unit apprehended three individuals involved in multiple cable thefts along metro tracks. The suspects, Govind Kumar alias Spiderman (24), Sushil Kumar (29), and Aas Mohammad (29), were caught stealing copper cables, which disrupted metro services.
The arrests followed an investigation into thefts reported on 3rd February 2025. DMRC official Surjeet Shukla had reported the theft of copper cables between Majlis Park and Azadpur stations on the Pink Line. An FIR was registered, leading to further investigation and subsequent arrests.
