Villagers threaten Kairana assembly bypolls boycott

Muzaffarnagar, Sep 22: The villagers of Khampur have threatened to boycott the Kairana assembly bypolls protesting against arrests and imposition of false cases by the police against the villagers.

The members of Bawariya community in Khampur village, under Kairana assembly constituency, took a decision to boycott the October 15 bypolls, in a panchayat meeting convened in Shamli district yesterday.

The meeting which was attended by many villagers protested against the imposition of false police cases and arrests of the Bawariya community men.
