Collaboration Between NGMA and LKA

The National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA) and Lalit Kala Akademi (LKA) have joined hands for the Viksit Bharat Ambassador Artist Workshop, which will see participation from both professional artists and fine arts students.

Exploring Various Mediums

The day-long workshop will be hosted at the Purana Quila, and each artist will be free to explore the medium of their choice, from sketching and acrylic painting to photography and other forms of art.

Theme: Viksit Bharat by 2047

While artists are not restricted by a time-frame in imagining their art, the overarching theme of the workshop will be "Viksit Bharat by 2047," said Sanjeev Kishor Goutam, director general of the NGMA. The event will represent a collective journey towards progress and development, encapsulating the essence of the vision for a thriving and culturally rich India, according to Culture Ministry officials.

Timing and Participation

The workshop will take place from 9 am to 5 pm. About 2,000-3,000 professional artists are expected to attend the camp, while a call has been given to approximately 5,000-6,000 fine arts students to participate as well. Additionally, school students will be encouraged to take part virtually by presenting a painting or other artwork online.

Collection of Artworks

When asked if there was a plan to collect the artworks created during the camp, Rajiv Kumar, secretary in-charge of LKA, said that decision would be made after the camp.

The Viksit Bharat Ambassador Artist Workshop is a unique opportunity for artists to come together and express their vision of a developed India. The artworks created during the camp will showcase the creativity and talent of Indian artists and contribute to the larger discourse on the future of the country.
