Vikrant Massey’s The Sabarmati Report To Be Screened For PM Modi Today At 4 PM

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to watch The Sabarmati Report today at 4 PM at the Balyogi Auditorium in Delhi. The film, featuring Vikrant Massey in the lead role, explores the tragic events of the 2002 Godhra train burning incident. Since its release, the movie has drawn significant attention from political leaders nationwide.

Co-starring Ridhi Dogra and Raashii Khanna, the film depicts the real-life events surrounding the burning of the S-6 coach of the Sabarmati Express in Godhra, a watershed moment in Indian history. Directed by Dheeraj Saran, the film hit theaters on November 15 and has sparked widespread debate and discussion.

PM Modi to Watch Sabarmati Report

Earlier, PM Modi expressed his support for the film, commending its efforts to present the 2002 events truthfully. Responding to a post on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) that featured the film's trailer, he remarked,"Well said. It is good that this truth is coming out, and that too in a way common people can see it. A fake narrative can persist only for a limited period. Eventually, the facts will always come out."

The film has been widely appreciated by leaders from BJP-ruled states. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath recently attended a screening and praised Vikrant Massey and the cast for their work. He remarked: "Vikrant Massey and his team have made a commendable effort. On behalf of UP, I express my heartfelt gratitude. The people of this country deserve to know the truth behind actions that have fueled societal divisions. To support the film, we are making it tax-free in the state."

Similarly, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini lauded the sensitive portrayal of the incident, describing the film as a tribute to the 59 individuals who lost their lives in the tragedy. "The makers have handled the subject with sensitivity and dignity," he said.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami echoed these sentiments after watching the film with his cabinet colleagues. He announced a tax exemption for The Sabarmati Report in the state, making it the seventh BJP-ruled state to grant this status. Dhami highlighted the film's role in uncovering the truth, stating: "At the time, there was more politics than investigation into the matter. This film helps bring out the truth."

Other states, including Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, and Gujarat, have also declared the film tax-free, further amplifying its reach and significance.
