Jammu, Mar 9: The Jammu and Kashmir unit chief of the Congress, Vikar Rasool Wani, has urged party workers to prepare for the upcoming parliamentary elections and actively engage with the public to expose the misrule of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Addressing Party Workers in Banihal
Addressing a party workers meeting in Banihal, Ramban district, Wani emphasized the importance of unity and rejecting any forces that attempt to create divisions among communities. He criticized the BJP's empty promises and highlighted the failure of their policies in addressing the genuine needs of the people.
Impact of BJP's Policies on Jammu and Kashmir
Wani asserted that every sector has been negatively affected by the policies and decisions of the BJP-led government. He pointed out that the people of Jammu and Kashmir have suffered due to the deprivation of statehood and their rights over jobs and land. Issues like property tax, toll plazas, smart meters, and unemployment have further exacerbated the hardships faced by the people.
Criticism of Lt Governor-Led Administration
Wani criticized the Lt Governor-led administration for its alleged failure to address the problems faced by the people. He stated that the Jammu and Kashmir government, controlled by the BJP, has only brought more suffering to the people.
Countering Communal Agenda and Strengthening Unity
Accusing the BJP of pursuing a communal agenda, Wani called on party workers to educate the public and thwart the attempts of those seeking to divide and weaken the fabric of society. He emphasized the need for every party worker to reach out to people at the grassroots level, enlightening and convincing them that only the Congress can rescue them from the current morass and arbitrariness of the BJP's misgovernance.
As the parliamentary elections approach, the Congress party in Jammu and Kashmir is mobilizing its workers to connect with the public, expose the shortcomings of the BJP's rule, and present itself as the alternative that can address the challenges faced by the people of the region.
