Video: Woman dragged from office, kidnapped and raped in Punjab; one arrested

New Delhi, Apr 23: At least one person has been arrested in connection with the rape of a Dalit woman in Punjab's Muktsar, media reported.

The suspect, Jagdeep Singh 'Jojo', of Kandukhera village was sent to a three-day police remand, reported the Tribune.

The victim was dragged from her office, kidnapped and raped in Muktsar on March 25. Her abduction from office was caught on a CCTV camera placed in a nearby shop.

The 24-year-old woman was forcibly dragged by one of her abductors in broad daylight and later taken to a farmhouse where she was raped repeatedly.

An FIR got registered in connection with the case five days after the incident. Tragically, no one came forward to help the victim.
