UP shocker: Video clip about gangrape goes viral

Pilibhit (UP), Jan 6: A video clip has gone viral here showing gangrape of a married woman who had gone missing over a month back, prompting police to file a case.

The woman, with her three-month-old infant, had left for her husband's house in Badaun district from her parents' place in Barha village under Sungadhi police station area here on November 23 but did not reach the destination.

The family was taken aback some four days ago when the woman's brother received a video clip on WhatsApp showing four to five men raping her, police said.

Police was immediately approached and a case was registered yesterday.

The family alleged that the police did not register the missing complaint so far.

"The family members had come to us and apprised us of the incident and an FIR on their complaint was lodged against unknown persons yesterday," said Assistant Superintendent of Police Sudhir Kumar Singh.

Efforts are on to identify the accused and trace the victim, he added.
